SCITT Trainees…

By Miss E Hodgson13th March 2017

This week we welcome

Chris Clark, Amanda Clough, Alysia Hughes, Emma Rose and Fran Tague from the Gateshead 3-7 SCITT.

This is part of their teacher training and they are improving our nursery areas with new exciting equipment based around STEM. STEM is Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics and Christina our teacher has been attending some new training. We would like to invite you all in on Friday 24th March to share ideas to support your child at home and play with your child in the Nursery exploring new ideas. We will be selling pocket money toys you can then take home to continue support learning in STEM. It is also Red Nose Day and we will finish with our cake stall as advertised.

Music Club

By Miss E Hodgson30th January 2017

We are the trainee teachers, Chris and Xenia, and as some of you might have heard, we would like to start a brand new and exciting music club next week.

MusicClub

The club will run from 3:45 – 4:30pm every Wednesday for 4 weeks.
– Wednesday 1st February
– Wednesday 8th February
– Wednesday 15th February
Half term break
– Wednesday 1st March
We are very fortunate to have a piano in the nursery, so would like to put it to good use. The club will involve lots of singing (nursery rhymes and Disney!), dancing, music games and story-telling, all to the sound of the piano and Ukulele.
There are currently ten places available so if you are interested please fill in a slip and return it to a member of staff.
We look forward to seeing you there next Thursday.

Yours sincerely,

Goodbye Victoria, Hello Jillian, Kate, and Abbey…

By Miss E Hodgson20th January 2017

Dear Parents and Carers,

This Friday we say goodbye to Victoria in Red group as she leaves us to have her baby. We wish her, Simon and Harvey the best of luck with the newest addition to their family and look forward to meeting their newest Son.

We welcome Jillian to the morning Red group as their key worker; Jillian has completed the final part of her training in our Nursery and is very confident with our daily routine. She has met the children and worked alongside them every week. She will start on Monday 23rd January when the children will also have the support of Linda McGow.

We welcome Kate Birtles to the afternoon Red group as their key worker; Kate has worked in our Nursery for several years and has several of your children in the Purple group. She will start on Friday 20th January and work alongside Victoria.

We welcome Jillian to the Afternoon Purple group as their key worker alongside Linda McGow; Jillian will start with the Purple group in the next few weeks and Abbey Ward will support Linda until this time.

We welcome Abbey Ward who has been supporting children with additional needs after completing her apprenticeship with us, Abbey will continue this role on a permanent basis.

The new staff all look forward to meeting you and getting to know your children.
