The Sue Hedley Nursery School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expect all staff and volunteers to make this commitment.

Parents should be aware that the school will take any reasonable action to ensure the safety of its children, young people and family members.

In cases where the school has reason to be concerned that a child may be subject to significant harm, ill treatment, neglect or other forms of abuse, staff have no alternative but to follow the South Tyneside Safeguarding Children procedures. If staff witness any behaviour which concerns them, this will also be noted and monitored.  Parents/Carers will always be informed prior to action being taken.
